Dermaroller™

Genuine Dermaroller™ is a medical device which uses micro-needling columns to stimulate a wound healing process. The procedure stimulates the skin to repair ad regenerate itself naturally and safely, thus creating smoothing, healthier and brighter looking skin.

What conditions may benefit?

Acne scarringFacial and décolletage lines and wrinklesSun damage and aging skinStretch marks

How does Genuine Dermaroller™ work?

The columns of micro-medical needles penetrate through the epidermis to the dermis, stimulating the collagen within the skin and promoting skin rejuvenation. Post treatment the body starts to natural regenerate and repair the skin. New skin is formed and the blood supply to the area is optimised.

What results can I expect?

It can take up to 6 weeks to see the full effect and visible signs of change, although you may notice that your skin begins to look and feel a little fresher in the week after your treatment. Rejuvenation and repair are a natural process and continue to provide natural and long lasting enhancements.

How many treatments will I need?

This will depend on your individual requirements and your practitioner will discuss your needs and expectations with you at your free consultation. On average 3 treatments at 6 week intervals would be sufficient, however for scarring and acne more treatments may be necessary to see full benefits.

What happens during my treatment?

You will have an anaesthetic cream applied in the areas to be treated, this will stay on for 30 minutes. your skin is then cleansed with a sterile liquid.
Your treatment will then commence.
The genuine Dermaroller™ will be rolled at speed across the surface of the skin.
A soothing gel will then be applied followed by an SPF50 cream, (both of which you will be given to take home and re-apply).

What is the downtime after treatment?

Downtime is minimal, the treated area will be red (not unlike sunburn) for approximately 24-48 hours. You may continue with your daily routines as normal a couple of hours after your treatment.

Is it painful?

The treatment is uncomfortable but bearable.
